  • Newspaper and Mixed Paper: All clean and dry newspaper, coupons, glossy paper, junk mail, phone books, office paper, magazines, catalogs & cereal boxes. (Please see the attendant for removing wire)
  • N0 waxed paper, any paper products that have been contaminated with food waste or used tissues, used napkins, garbage from a bathroom, or any paper that has been contaminated by bodily fluids! These items are biohazards and put both residents and recycling attendants alike at risk of contamination. These must be disposed of in Town Bags. No exceptions. All food waste must be in town bags.
  • Cardboard: All clean corrugated cardboard. No waxed boxes or fish boxes.      
  • Glass: Only glass bottles and jars. Please rinse out. No ceramics, plate glass, light bulbs, mirrors, windowpanes, or drinking glasses.
  • Cans: Tin and aluminum cans should be rinsed out & 100% free of all food waste before arrival at the Recycling & Transfer Station. No Propane cylinders or aerosol cans. Consult a recycling attendant for proper disposal of these items.
  • Plastics: We are currently only accepting #1,  #2, #5 plastic, #3 to #7 are to be disposed of with your garbage in a Town bag. 

Household Hazardous Waste Drop-off (S.T.O.P. Program) 

Hazardous Waste Drop OffFirst Saturday of every month 9 am to 1 pm (unless otherwise advertised)

Pollutants: You must dispose of household hazardous waste at HAZMAT area. Do not throw these down the drain or into the ground.

These materials include, but are not limited to:

  • Antifreeze
  • Automotive Fluids
  • Cleaners
  • Disinfectants
  • Nail Polish
  • Paints (other than latex)
  • Pesticides
  • Shoe Polish

Containers should be labeled with the product's name or tell the attendant what is in the container. This information is necessary for proper handling.

Scale House

Must Go to Scale House for the following:

  • Air Conditioners
  • Asphalt
  • Automobiles
  • Trailers
  • Automobile/Lawn Mower Batteries
  • Concrete
  • Construction/Building Debris
  • Dehumidifiers
  • Dirt/Fill
  • Furniture
  • Leaves (quality and quantity must be monitored)
  • Logs and Stumps
  • Scrap Metal
  • Propane Tanks
  • Refrigerators
  • Tires

All fees subject to change. Check with the scale master if you have any questions.

There is a designated drop-off area between the cardboard and glass for compact fluorescent bulbs, household batteries, and printer cartridges. This area is off-limits to scavenging.
