Thank you for volunteering to submit your well water test results to the Shelter Island Town Water Advisory Committee (WAC).
For the test results to help the WAC understand aquifer water quality, it is important that your test be conducted by the Suffolk County Department of Health Services or a commercial laboratory certified to conduct water tests.
To submit your test results, please do one of the following:
- Scan or take a picture of your test results and email it to watertest@shelterislandtown.gov.
- Mail your test results to:

The WAC may aggregate your test results with others to better understand water quality issues within the aquifer. The WAC will not publicly identify your property by address or name. However, your results can be requested by others under New York’s Freedom of Information Law.
Thank you for sending us your test results. Our aquifer is underground so, unlike a lake or a river, we cannot see it or easily sample it. Test results from you and your neighbors are necessary for us to understand our aquifer and make good decisions.
