Annual New York State Online Training Online: Harassment Prevention for New York Employees/Supervisors

Government Employees, Board/Committee Members, and Volunteers are required to take the annual on-line mandatory training course titled: Harassment Prevention for New York Employees and Department Heads are required to take the Harassment Prevention for New York Supervisors course.

This course will teach you to recognize workplace practices or behaviors that could have a discriminatory effect, identify harassing behaviors in the workplace, and take action to prevent harassment – including sexual harassment and retaliation. Compliant with S.6577/A.8421 sexual harassment training requirements.

Government Employees, Board/Committee Members, and Volunteers are emailed a link from PERMA Safety Institute requesting you click the link to activate your NEOGOV/PERMA account and create a Password. The Town of Shelter Island’s NYS municipality associated insurance company PERMA (using NEOGOV’s LEARN platform), offers mandatory online training plus offers a library of public-sector-focused courses you can upload for automated tracking and reporting for compliance and employee development. The Town encourages all employees to explore all the educational, professional skills, and safety online classes NEOGOV has to offer..

*** No Smoking Policy: In accordance with the NYS Clean Indoor Air Act, it is the policy of the Town to prohibit smoking in the workplace, which includes all Town buildings and all Town Vehicles. Smoking, to include burning or vaping of any material, including but not limited to tobacco, hemp and marijuana, shall be prohibited at all times.
